Statement on AGD Bank Staffs Diagnosed with Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

October 1, 2020

(Yangon, 1st October 2020) – As Myanmar braces for the second wave of COVID-19 outbreak, there is no higher priority for AGD Bank than the safety of our customers, our partners, and our staff members.

As a responsible local organization, we would like to take this opportunity to address the situation regarding four staff members from AGD Bank Branches and five staff members from AGD Bank Head Office who were tested positive for Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) announced by MOHS, Ministry of Health and Sports in the last 14 days. The individuals are now undergoing treatment at COVID-19 Medical Centres and are in stable condition.

Due to AGD Bank alternative working schedule and work from home arrangements, the inidividuals did not come into close contact with any AGD Bank customers in any way. Our hearts and prayers go out to the staff members who are diagnosed with COVID-19 and we will be providing much-needed support to the patients and their families during this difficult period as they receive care and treatment necessary for a full recovery.

To address the changing needs of the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic, we imposed wide-ranging preventive measures to mitigate the spread of the disease.

Since March, we implemented provisions of our established thorough precautionary measures according to MOHS guidelines as part of our overall Business Continuity Plan. These measures outline specific steps AGD Bank takes to safeguard the health and well-being of customers and employees while ensuring the Company’s ability to maintain essential operations and continue to provide important services to our customers:

● Social distancing measures in both head office and branches.

● Temperature screening to all customers and staffs at our office buildings and branches.

● Ensuring the availability of protective equipment (i.e. hand sanitizers, face masks, hand gloves, and other barriers) to all front-line staff members at all branches and buildings.

● Implementing knowledge sharing programs on Dos and Don’ts amid COVID-19.

● Cleaning and disinfection of our premises, ferries and office cars regularly.

We have implemented the above precautionary measures and instructed all essential staff members working on the premises and at branch locations to follow strict medical protocols as mandated by the Ministry of Health and Sports (MOHS).

We will continue to closely monitor the COVID-19 situation as well as the condition of our staff members who are receiving treatment. We will attentively coordinate within the organization to ensure we’re taking necessary steps to mitigate any risks that may affect the health of our customers, our staff members and members of our communities.
