AGD Bank's Compassionate Relief Efforts in Rakhine State: Extending Support to Cyclone Mocha-Affected Communities in Rati Taung Township, Rakhine State

Rati Taung Township, situated in Rakhine State, recently endured the devastating impact of Cyclone Mocha. Recognizing the urgent need for assistance, AGD Bank, together with the invaluable support of the Rakhine Community Association, Rakhine Thahaya (Yangon), took swift action to provide aid to the most affected households as part of the bank's "grow" CSR initiative.

On June 2nd, a dedicated team led by U Tin Maung, the Head of Business Intelligence and Organizational Performance at AGD Bank, alongside colleagues Daw Yi Yi Khaing San, Head of Administration, U Myo Yarzar Thein, Head of Risk Management, and Daw Khine Thazin, Head of Marketing, embarked on a significant visit to the affected regions. This mission aimed to assess the extent of the losses and identify the areas with the greatest need for aid.

Accompanied by Dr. U Soe Khant and U Maung Soe Thein, representatives of the Rakhine Thahaya from Sittwe City, who provided local support, the AGD Bank delegation ventured into Rakhine State. The bank expresses its sincere gratitude for their unwavering commitment and full support in facilitating water and land travel within Rati Taung Township for this journey.

Through comprehensive assessments and direct interactions with the local communities, the AGD Bank team identified three priority areas requiring immediate attention. Dompey Village, Rati Taung Township, with 140 households, Kandai Aung Village with 50 households, and Koetankout Village with 110 households emerged as the most severely affected regions. AGD Bank extended aid to these 300 households, providing essential food supplies, hygiene and grooming items, and General Sales List (GSL) medicines.
